 We found Ketut through the website, starlingbali.com. We are so grateful we did. He was the best guide we have ever experienced because not only did he guide us but he took us in like family. His brother, Gede and his protege, Wayan also made our experience very special. We hiked and looked for wildlife. Birds galore, Civit Cats, Barking Deer, Giant Squirrels and more. We camped on the beach and they made us a wonderful camp dinner. They took us to their home and prepared a wonderful traditional Balinese lunch with the family.  We found Ketut on a travelblog, referring to his website Starlingbali.com. With less than 2 days heads-up he was able to offer us a tour combining a hike through the forests of West Bali Nationalpark and snorkeling on the shore of Menjangan island.

Ketut was born in a village inside West Bali Nationalpark. He and his brother picked us up from our homestay early in the morning. First we drove to a harbour next to the Nationalpark, where we boarded a small boat to the starting point of our hike. We were 2 people + Ketut and the skipper and the ride took 20 min to the seaside of West Bali Nationalpark.

On arrival we were welcomed by Menjangans (deers) at the beach. Our hike through the woods was really great. We saw black monkeys, giant squirrels, different birds and more... While walking, Ketut explained the nationalpark's history and showed us interesting plants. He often knows to which plants at home the ones in the park are related to. Great knowledge and fun conversations... We even lost track of time, which none of us bothered.

After the hike we had a lunchbreak - Ketut had tasty meals prepared which were transported and served in banana leaves.
After lunch, again with no hurry, we got on the boat again and enjoyed snorkeling on two different spots in front of Menjangan Island. Ketut provided all the gear and guided us along the coral reef.

The overall experience was the best my wife and I had on Bali! If you want to immerse into the nature of Bali this is the way to go! Also the conversation was very informative and I enjoyed it a lot!

Ketut showed us round the Bali National park in a personal and friendly manner. Funny, informative, not to mention his perfect English! We learnt a lot about the forest, the animals, the island, the people and the religion. We saw monkeys, native deer, and even swung on the vines like Tarzan!

Ketut invited us the day after to celebrate the final day of a local wedding ceremony in his community. An amazing experience for us and we're so grateful that Ketut opened his arms and embraced us into his culture. It was really beautiful to see and we hope to return back soon to Bali and this beautiful landscape. 

 We booked just a small trip to see the nationalpark. We have seen birds, black monkeys and get so many information about the park and the animals.
After that he ask us if we want to enjoy a traditional dance with his family. It wars amazing and he tell many details about his culture. We feelt us like a part of his family. I really can recommend this guy. His English was better than my, so you can enjoy and ask him a lot questions
